Dear colleagues and friends,
Hope your September is off to a good start!

Please join me in welcoming a new member to the SSYCDS and listserv,
Xiaotian YIN 尹筱天.  Below please find Xiaotian's self introduction. Welcome
to our community!

My name is Xiaotian YIN 尹筱天 and I am a doctoral candidate at Harvard
University specializing in Buddhist art in China and Inner Asia from the
tenth to the fourteenth century. My dissertation, “Collecting Embers:
Buddhist Art in Central Tibet in the Age of Fragmentation, c. tenth to
twelfth century,” investigates the transcultural exchange of Buddhist art
across Tibet, China, Nepal, and India when Central Tibet was usually
considered as a wasteland after the collapse of the powerful Tibetan
Empire. I am also interested in the Buddhist publishing and printing
culture in Song, Liao, Tangut-Xixia, and Mongol-Yuan states. In 2022-2023,
I am a visiting scholar and a lecturer in the Department of Art History at
Dartmouth College.

Sincerely,
Ya Zuo
Secretary, Society for Song, Yuan, and Conquest Dynasties Studies
