Dear colleagues and friends,
Hope you are doing well! Please join me in welcoming a new member to the
Song Yuan listserv, Gulsen Kilci. Below please find Gulsen's self
introduction. Welcome to the SSYCDS community!

I'm Gulsen KILCI, a PhD student at the University of Paris-Cité working
on the Yuan-Koryŏ alliances under the supervision of a medieval Korea
specialist, Prof. Yannick Bruneton. My thesis is entitled :
"Interdynastic relations between Koryŏ kingdom and Yuan empire seen
through marital alliances: a new imperial order in East Asia?".
After a bachelor's and master's degree in Korean studies at the
University of Paris-Cité, I completed a master's degree in History at
the EHESS in Paris. I'm currently learning Mongolian at INALCO. I began
studying Classical Chinese in my bachelor's degree in Korean studies and
I kept studying it through my master's degrees. I also attented the
first Classical Chinese program of the Academy of Korean Studies in
Seongnam, South Korea, back in 2019.
I'm currently translating all the Biographies of Imperial Princesses
from Yuan sent to Koryŏ and the missives exchanged between the two
courts (in the "Official History of the Koryŏ kingdom" 高麗史).
Nice to meet you all.

Sincerely,
Ya Zuo
