Dear Members of the Society for Song, Yuan, and Conquest Dynasties Studies,

We would like to announce this year’s election for* three* new members of
the Board for the SSYCDS. Two of the three positions for new Board members
are open to associate professor level and above. The third position is
designated for a graduate student representative, minimum ABD, whose
research focuses on the study of the Song, Yuan, or Conquest Dynasties,
from the early tenth century to the mid-fourteenth century.

You may nominate yourself or another member of the society for these
positions. The deadline for nominations is May 31, PST 5:00 pm. Please
send your nominations to Yiwen Li yiwenli@cityu.edu.hk
yiwenli@cityu.edu.hk.

Candidates should provide a very brief (two-three sentences) statement of
their work and interests and preferably also the URL for a website
providing information on the candidate’s professional experience and
interests, both of which will appear on the ballot website when the
election gets underway in June. Please indicate whether the candidate is a
graduate student, so that we can indicate that on the election slate. If
you are nominating someone else, please make sure to communicate with that
person first and ask them to submit their self-description.

As we did with the last election (held in 2022), we will use Election
Runner. You will soon receive a prompt from Election Runner asking you to
participate in the vote. The website will be open for two weeks,* from June
3, PST 8:00 am through June 17, PST 5:00 pm. *

We are very grateful to candidates who agree to stand for election to those
positions. You will also have the option to write-in a candidate of your
choice; but please keep in mind that only members in good standing are
eligible for a seat on the board of directors. Brief descriptions of the
candidates will appear on the ballot website.

For information on the current members of the board, please refer to the
SSYCDS website using the url: https://www.songyuan.org/about.html

We hope this process will be easy and smooth as in the last election.

Sincerely,
Yiwen Li
