Dear All,

I am happy to report that volume 16 is now on the website.  I would like to
thank Prof. Helwig Schmidt-Glintzer for providing us with the scanned image
files for 16 and 17.

That is the good news.  However, I also have put the raw scanned file of
volume 17 (108 megabytes) on the website and am looking for someone who has
a work-study student or other source of labor who can process the images.
This entails:

  1. Export the jpg images as PNG files.  (These are large but also lossless,
so that multiple processing of the images does not create progressive
    degradation.)

  2. Crop the page images.

  3. Correct the color (Microsoft Office Picture Manager does a good job with
    the “Enhance color” button)

  4. Correct the contrast (again Picture Manager does an OK job).

  5. Save results

  6. Repeat 200 times (even at 30 seconds per page, this adds up to a lot of
    time)

If someone will take this on and send me the resulting corrected image
files, I’ll assemble them into the PDFs.  If you have software that works
better than what Microsoft provides, be my guest.
